In 2025, Voyage entered a year in which its direction became increasingly clear. As AI continues to reshape how information is accessed, consumed, and valued, Voyage focuses on a single, persistent question: when AI consumes human knowledge at scale, how should attribution and value be established.
Over the year, Voyage advanced from narrative clarity to concrete progress, shaping core infrastructure primitives, testing fundamental economic assumptions, and forming early community consensus. Together, these efforts outlined a clear and disciplined path for how GEOFi can operate as a system.

Funding & Strategic Positioning
As AI reshapes information distribution and consumption, Voyage clearly positioned itself as the world's first GEOFi Network, focused on addressing attribution and value settlement for human knowledge in the AI era.
Pre-Seed Fundraising
In October 2025, Voyage completed a $3 million pre-seed round to support the development of GEOFi's foundational infrastructure. The round was backed by a16z Speedrun, AllianceDAO, Solana Ventures, LECCA Ventures, IOSG Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, MH Ventures, Gam3Girls Ventures, Y2Z Ventures, and angels including Mable Jiang (Trends), Varun Srinivasan (Farcaster), and Kuan Huang (ex-Uniswap). More than capital, this round represented a shared conviction: as AI becomes the primary interface to information, an attribution layer becomes essential infrastructure.
GEOFi Narrative Formation
Following the fundraising, GEOFi evolved from a concept into a clearly framed problem statement: when AI consumes human content at scale, how can sources remain verifiable, value be settled, and creators avoid systemic dilution. This framing became the common premise underlying Voyage's subsequent infrastructure work and economic exploration.
Product & Infrastructure Foundations
Guided by its GEOFi thesis, Voyage steadily advanced the construction of key infrastructure and system primitives, laying the groundwork for future system composition and expansion.
v402 Payment Infrastructure
Voyage completed v402, the development of an internal payment infrastructure built on x402, forming a Stripe-like stablecoin payment and settlement framework. Proposed by Coinbase, x402 is an open payment standard designed to bring native stablecoin payments into the HTTP request layer, enabling content and services to be priced and settled on demand.
This approach closely aligns with GEOFi's view of attributable and settleable information flows. Using x402, Voyage implemented and internally validated reference flows for stablecoin paywalls and facilitator-based settlement across AI-native scenarios such as content access, indexing, and attribution—testing the feasibility of GEOFi's payment and settlement layer design.
v402pay Open-Source Framework
In December, Voyage open-sourced v402pay, a Web3 payment framework built on a two-phase commit model. Designed around the principle No delivery → No charge, v402pay decouples payment intent, business execution, and on-chain settlement to mitigate the pay-but-no-delivery problem commonly seen in Web3 systems. The framework provides unified interface abstractions for EVM and Solana execution environments, offering developers a safer and more controllible payment primitive as a reference implementation for future application and system composition.
The open-source release received positive signals from the developer community, including Cody Wang (Blockchain Engineer at Base) and Ash (DevRel at Coinbase Dev).
Economic Exploration
As infrastructure matured, Voyage conducted a series of experimental demos to examine GEOFi's core economic assumptions.
x402 Reader Experiment
x402 Reader served as an experimental content consumption demo, exploring whether per-article pricing could function as a viable alternative to subscription-based models. The experiment validated creator-defined pricing, USDC-based on-chain settlement, micropayments as low as $0.01, and subscription-free reading—opening new possibilities for content monetization.
Agent-Native Content Consumption
Building on x402 Reader, Voyage explored the feasibility of AI agents autonomously paying for content access. In this model, agents unlock content and complete payments under compliant and settleable conditions, offering a reference path toward agent-native information flows.
Economic Design Directions
Voyage also proposed and discussed more systemic economic design directions, including bonding-curve-based content pricing, mechanisms allowing early readers to benefit from downstream distribution, and fully open payment rails that prevent creator lock-in. These ideas remain exploratory, serving as directional inputs into GEOFi's long-term economic model.
Ecosystem Signals
Rather than pursuing exposure-driven activities, Voyage used ongoing dialogue and engagement to repeatedly test a central question: does GEOFi align with the long-term trajectory of AI development?
AI AMAs & Dialogue
Voyage hosted and participated in multiple AI-focused AMAs and public discussions around data flows, attribution, and value in the AI era. This included hosting AI at Sea with builders from Donut and O1 Exchange, as well as participating in joint AI × Crypto AMAs with PANews, Gradient, Theoriq, and Sentient to examine the necessity of attribution layers in AI-native systems.
Events & External Conversations
Beyond online dialogue, Voyage engaged in offline conversations to observe shifts in industry consensus. Throughout the year, Voyage exchanged perspectives with teams at Google Cloud and participated in TechCrunch Disrupt 2025, discussing data flows and value settlement in the AI era with builders from diverse backgrounds. These interactions prioritized understanding long-term trends over short-term exposure.
Community & Narrative Formation
Voyage approached community as the foundation of GEOFi's long-term narrative and shared understanding.
Community-Led Identity Building
Through a community-driven mascot naming initiative—open to submissions, voting, and supported by incentives, Voyage shaped its early identity collaboratively. The process culminated in the adoption of Cap G, a pirate-spirited beaver, as Voyage's symbolic figure, reflecting growing narrative alignment within the community.
Cap G represents a tangible expression of GEOFi's philosophy: navigating open information waters to explore and capture value, while operating within clear rules and boundaries. It reflects Voyage's stance in an AI-dominated information landscape, ensuring knowledge remains traceable, value is settleable, and returns flow back to genuine creators rather than being absorbed by centralized platforms or large AI systems.
Early Community Signals & Conversations
As Voyage's direction and narrative became clearer, community participation increased meaningfully. By year-end, the waitlist surpassed 60,000, signaling interest and alignment with the GEOFi direction itself.
During the year, Voyage also hosted a small, invite-only community dinner, bringing together early supporters and core contributors for in-person discussion. Conversations focused on the long-term direction of GEOFi, the real-world implications of attribution in the AI era, and the role Voyage aims to play as foundational infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
With core primitives, economic structures, and community consensus taking shape, Voyage is entering a phase focused on composing these capabilities into a coherent system. A major update is in preparation, marking the next step toward a more complete GEOFi system.
Welcome to GEOFi.
Bon Voyage.
